Kindergarten Registration will begin February 1, 2024 and it will be an on-line process. French applications and cross district applications must be in by February 29th and can be accessed via the Burnaby School District website https://burnabyschools.ca/registration/ . French Applications are not first come, first serve. They are put into categories to determine which students get a spot in the program.
Once you register at your home catchment, if you would like to register your child for French, you will need to fill out a District Language Application Form which is separate from the On-line Preliminary Registration form.
English applications can be submitted from February 1st onward.
When applying for Kindergarten you will need to submit the following documents with your registration:
- Proof of birth date for the student (birth certificate or passport)
- Proof of Guardianship (parents’ or guardians’ as shown on birth certificate or other appropriate legal documentation such as landed immigrant paper, guardianship order or dependents listed on CRA document)
- Proof of citizenship for both parent/guardian and student (Canadian birth certificate, citizenship card, passport, landed immigrant document, notice of decision, PR card)
- Proof of Residency (documentation must include two items, at least one from Category A which includes proof of ownership of dwelling or long-term lease or rental of dwelling; legal documents indicating BC residence; parent or guardian government issued tax statement and one from Category B which includes BC hydro bill, internet/cable bill, Provincial driver’s license, provincial registration of automobile, Canadian bank accounts or credit cards)
